Taking care of some form of housing for these children and their families is heavy on our minds. As we take food, clothes or shoes there, we are faced with the view that you see in the pictures. A view of a home built with sticks and scraps of material found on the road, or if lucky, a tarp to keep the rain out. Doors are makeshift pieces of cloth, windows are simply open air holes.

This is the reality of this environment. Stick homes that have no bathroom, no electricity, no kitchen to make meals in, no water, no plumbing of any kind, no windows, no doors, no place to sleep but the floor. Everyone deserves something better. In one of the last phases of our projects, we hope to be able to provide better shelter for these people.

We believe an apartment complex would be ideal, providing a safe haven from the elements and promoting the community environment that they thrive in and are accustomed to. Apartments would be provisioned with water, electricity, kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, doors and windows which, while seeming basic to us, are a luxury for this group of people. Providing access to a proper bathroom for personal hygiene, safety and to aid in the prevention of diseases should be a given. Kitchen facilities will assure proper nutrition and a healthier population. Electricity providing light and heat will assist in the learning process allowing for young minds to succeed with their studies, contributing to the success of the entire community, village, families and country.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
